Health Guarantee

Puppy is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of delivery/pickup. This puppy must be seen within two days of pickup/delivery date. (excluding Sundays and Holidays).

  • Hypoglycemia, Internal and External Parasites, allergies, thyroid dysfunction, kennel cough, undescended testicles, reaction to vaccines, any condition that can be corrected by veterinarian treatment and any other preventable conditions are not covered at any time.

  • Breeder guarantees the puppy against fatal viruses for 48 hours. These include Distemper, Parvo, and Corona. Failure to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within this time frame voids this health guarantee. If the puppy is found to be in unacceptable health, a WRITTEN statement from the diagnosing licensed veterinarian must be provided and VERBAL confirmation must be given to Soto Yorkies. The puppy must be returned within 24 hours for a full refund.

Soto Yorkies also provides a one (1) year health guarantee against life-threatening hereditary / congenital defects involving HEART, KIDNEYS, or LIVER (valid until the puppy’s FIRST birthday).

  • Breeder must be informed of the examination and provided with written documentation from the diagnosing licensed vet that indicates that at the time of sale, such animal was unfit for purchase due to a qualifying life-threatening congenital defect/ hereditary condition involving heart, kidneys, or liver.

  • Thorough testing must have been completed to rule out other causes of symptoms and to confirm the qualifying diagnosis. Soto Yorkies does not accept professional opinions without proper testing to back it up.

  • All documentation/records/test results must be provided to Breeder which confirm the qualifying diagnosis (without a doubt) and WRITTEN and VERBAL confirmation from DIAGNOSING VET must be given to Breeder. If all are not provided, Breeder reserves the right to deny such claims and contract may be null and void due to Buyer breaching contract.

  • Buyer must also agree to continue with proper vaccines and abide by Vet recommendations and state standards for proper care of puppy (excluding Leptospirosis vaccine). Buyer must provide all vet records for puppy and give permission for Breeder to speak to any vet who has seen/provided care for puppy in case Breeder has any questions regarding puppy’s care. Failure to keep puppy up to date on vaccines and regular vet care may also void this contract.

  • If the puppy was in fact unfit for purchase, Buyer may return the puppy for a replacement. Breeder will offer a replacement puppy of comparable value BUT no money will be refunded. This is subject to availability, breeder’s first choice for breeding program then the buyer second. Failure to return the puppy within 48 hours of vet exam will result in the cancellation of a replacement puppy.

  • If the puppy should die from a suspected congenital defect within 12 months of its birth date, an autopsy/necropsy MUST be performed at the buyer’s expense by a licensed veterinarian. If the autopsy shows a congenital/hereditary defect as the reason for death, the Breeder will provide another puppy of equal value to the buyer. A WRITTEN statement from the licensed veterinarian who performed autopsy must be provided addressed to the Breeder and with a detailed description of the puppy treated and confirmation of the cause of death. VERBAL confirmation must also be given to Breeder by the Vet who performed the autopsy. This guarantee is void in the event of an indeterminable or inconclusive diagnosis.

  • In the event there are no puppies available at that time, the buyer will then be placed on a waiting list for the first suitable replacement puppy in comparable value when one becomes available. If an autopsy is not performed this guarantee is not valid and the puppy will not be replaced. Buyer is responsible for the transportation cost of the replacement puppy.

  • This health guarantee will only be valid while the breeder is breeding Yorkies. Should the Breeder discontinue breeding Yorkies, this contract shall be null and void.

  • This contract is only between the Breeder and initial Buyer(s). If this puppy/dog is sold to another party, this contract is not transferrable and will be void.
